Learning Fund

What is the Learning Fund?
As we begin the 2022-2023 school year, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families. Green Valley School is a special place thanks, in part, to the generous families who collectively value the enrichment of our children’s elementary school experience.
The Green Valley Learning Fund is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds to bridge the gap between state funding and the actual cost of the full educational experience we strive for our children to have.

Your generous donation at registration - the Future Fund Campaign, the Apex Fun Run, the Annual Auction, and Employer Matching programs are all vitally important to ensuring our school raises the money we need to keep enhanced programming and services available to our children.

Current Donation Ask:
As of June 2020, all Learning Funds in the San Ramon Valley School District are required to forward fundraise. Therefore, your donation to our 2022/2023 Future Fund Campaign will be applied to the 2023/24 school year. The projected fundraising budget for the 2023/2024 school year is $252,700 with the suggested donation of $575 per student. All donations are tax deductible.

Our 2023-2024 budget includes, Instructional Assistants in every classroom, TK/Kindergarten PE, a dedicated Makers Space and supporting IA, an Art Docent, tech equipment, and lunchtime sports. With your support, we can meet our annual fundraising goal and strive to fund even more services and programs at Green Valley, such as supplemental science instruction, Project Based Learning support services, and added IA support.

Learning Fund donations have a direct impact on improving every child’s educational experience. Please be a part of this vital process. Donations can be made in full at registration or broken into installments. We aim to have 100% of our families donate at whatever amount is possible for the family.

Donations can be made during Green Valley Online Registration.

To donate by check, complete Online Registration (, and bring your “pay by check” receipt to the Green Valley office and a check made out to the Green Valley Learning Fund.

Any questions, please contact GVLF President, Aliza Grosh at ( ).

We are looking forward to an amazing year at Green Valley Elementary!

Thank you,
The Green Valley Learning Fund Board 2022/2023

What is Employer Matching?
Many companies have philanthropic programs that will financially match their employees’ donations to nonprofit organizations.
What is the most common matching gift
A 1:1 matching gift is most common but a higher ratio is possible, depending on the company policy.
  • Many companies have deadlines to submit matching requests (e.g. end of calendar year or within a set period of the donation date).
  • IF both parents' employers match, you can submit the same donation to each company for a match, and potentially triple your donation!
How do I know if my employer matches?
Do you match

What do I do once I’ve submitted?
Please email Nori ( to let us know that you have submitted a request so we can track receipt.
